Buy this game. it reminded me Broken Age, and it certainly pays homage to the classic Lucas Arts adventures. When you factor in the indie two-person development team, the game is frankly nothing short of amazing. It's not perfect; there were pacing problems where I felt as though the game left me lost with no place to go, and I had to consult a walkthrough more than once. But let's be honest, the best that the golden age of advenures had to offer suffered from the same issues. This game is fun, genuinely humerous at times, well voice acted and well written. If I had to describe what makes this game better than 90% of the "wanna-be" point and click adventures in the modern age, it is the dialogue. Too many "comedy" adventures equate funny with stupid. I hope that this game makes enough $ to ecourage more quality adventures in the future from the developers.

I really liked the game. With starts and stops, the ability to review dialoge kept me on track most of the time, although I admit that I referred to a walkthrough out of frustration a time or two. With the rich world created by the designers, I would have enjoyed a bit more backstory troughout the game, even if only through reading books, to give the player more detail as to how the world got to where it is. This was really a game more about uncovering mysteries than solving puzzles, and I would have added a star had there been more to uncover. At the reasonable price that the game is selling for, I would recommend it for adventure game fans who are willing to stray a bit from the strict confines of the genre.

A good game, if you can get it to run properly. I could not. I use Windows 8.1, and after a couple of hours of game play I could no longer save a game without crashing. I suspect that it is an issue with quicktime, . I played the original game in 1997 and it is quite original and fun. I don't fault the developer for not updating the game to run with modern operating systems (after all, the game only costs $5.99), but I feel as though the buyer should beware. I suppose that you could play the game straight through in about 6 hours or so..

I've read several online reviews of this game, and all are generally positive. While the Myst comparison is obvious, I am surprised that no one has noted the similarity with the 90s classic "Amber: Journeys Beyond". Amber has always been in my all-time top ten list of adventure games, but due to difficulty in running the game on modern operating systems, apparently many have not played the game. For those who have, Ether One involves the same kind of investigation of a dementia patient's mind that Amber explored with ghosts. Hopefully, GOG can add Amber to its collection in the future. Until then, I heartily recommend this game for first person adventure fans who appreciate atmosphere and do not mind wandering around in an abandoned environment in search of clues.
