The game is absolutely beautiful! The game is absolutely beautiful! Stunning visuals and enchanting music fully immerse you in a medieval world. I cannot stress this enough: I HATE H8 HAITI HATE the characters and the stories — all petty, narcissistic, immature, with no heroic figures, including Geralt. The narratives are ugly, nasty, depressing, and rarely satisfying. This was almost enough to ruin the whole game for me, until I ignored all the main questline stuff and just went monster hunting. Ignoring the main quest and just hunting monsters made the game fun. I eventually returned to finish the story after completing every POI, contract, treasure hunt, and side quest — still hated it, but I could power through and get it over with. And finally, the mechanics. This game is easy. The mechanics are easy but enjoyable — like Tetris or Angry Birds, a satisfying time-killer. Embrace crafting, oils, potions, runestones, glyphs, and signs, and no monster will truly challenge you. The Bestiary is invaluable for exploiting weaknesses. So TL;DR: Gorgeous visuals, enchanting music, hateful characters and stories, very easy combat.
Of thousanmds of games I've played this one is hands-down the best game I've ever played.
I'm only a couple of hours in, but I've gotta say I LOVE this game! Reminds me so much of CP77, the tone, the settings, the milieu, is all wonderfully crafted. The graphics are top notch, nearly next gen, especially in the cut scenes. Of course I'm a stealth guy, myself, and this game does it as good as the best and better than most. The lore is rich and depp and complex (I'll be honest here, maybe a little too complex) and that give the game weight and gravitas. Shame how the launch was botched and the game underpeformed. Because it could've easily rivaled any other game out there. You should play it!
