I had heard that the atmosphere was great but damn... until you put headphones on and play this game you just won't understand. The OST especially. It's very bass-y and unf I love it. I've been listening to it while writing for my D&D campaign and it's just really damn good. I've not played a lot of turn based strategy games besides the first Xcom a little and Darkest Dungeon so I'm not a good resource for comparisons but it seems solid enough. I like that as long as you have the CPs you can do extra stuff and still do all the stuff you haven't done like attack. I'd love an overwatch ability but eh. The only criticism I can make is that depth of field effect is really annoying. Love the wealth of difficulty options, I love it when games do that. Sure I usually leave them on default the first time, but the second time now that I know what I'm doing I like cranking things up to the max and seeing how bad I truly am at the game. And I know a lot of people that love that too so kudos to the dev team for inclusion! Overall if you like 40k and turn based strategy pick it up! It's definitely worth the price I paid for it on sale but now I feel a little bad I hadn't bought this earlier so I'm gonna go ahead and pick up the Heretek DLC to make up for it. Here's to more games from this dev team! You guys are something special and I hope you all get to make more games!
Ok so I had heard that the atmosphere in this game was great but until you put some headphones on and hear it for yourself you will not understand. A++ in the sound department and the OST is amazing and I've been listening to it while writing for my D&D campaign. Unf unf, it's fantastic. Graphics aren't bad but that DOF is annoying. Thankfully it's got great art direction like many higher quality 40k games do. Overall if you like turn based strategy and 40k, pick this up you likely won't regret it!
