Encased: A Sci-Fi Post-Apocalyptic RPG

Clunky and Unpolished

On the surface it's a game with a great looking story line, and feels like it has potential. The mechanics and interface drag this game down. Thirst, hunger, AND exhaustion, on top of radiation (a must in a post apocalyptic setting) are more stats to manage, more items to carry, more things to worry about. The crafting system - great potential but again bogged down by more items to carry and manage. And loot drops appear to be the definition of random. There's piles of loot everywhere, and those piles seem to be totally random; as in roll on Table A to see how many rolls on Table B which determines which of Tables C through Z to roll on to determine what's in the piles. ANd while you can toggle pop ups of the piles; it doesn't highlight them, and some of them are hard to pin down. Worse; that cool looking weapon your opponent is wielding? Strangely not part of the loot you get from them; or even ammo. Really needs some more TLC before it's really playable.
