This is almost the exact same game as Mechwarrior 5, but in a turn based strategy. Even the jump ship cut scenes are almost the same. I have both and when I want a FPS I play Mechwarrior 5, when I want a TBS I play this title. If you have both switching between them is easy as its almost the same game. Mostly faithful from the table top version, but I haven't played table top Battletech in around 25ish years. Like Mechwarrior 5, it gets boring due to fixed mech layouts with each chassis, tonnage restrictions on missions, and a death clock on the career mode where the game will end after so many turns. Almost the same game with the same pros and cons. Bottem line, it's Battletech. If you know that, you know what you are getting into. Not full Battletech with all the content, but it's got plenty of replay. Unfortunately like Mechwarrior, its only a few layers deep. 4/5 stars.
I played this back in the 90's as a teenager and it was incrediable. One of my favorate games. It's from another time in humanities history, back when the world wasn't broken and destroyed by those who seak to ruin our species. Worth playing in 2023 and I hope they do a remake like they did the first game.
