In Theme Hospital, each early games are interesting, players have to think about long-range planning when placing rooms and items, get the best employees or wait another month to replace them by better skilled people. Once the hospital is opened, the main point is to lookout for any optimization and correction to make. Unfortunately, when everything is running good, positive earnings, opinion constantly increasing and employees with a nice routine, there is not much left to do. There are events breaking the monotony of a settled game, like earthquakes and the reparation of the machines and emergencies, but apart from that the overall game is easy as soon as the player gets the idea of how to perfectly run a hospital. There should have been a deeper management, like in The Sims released later in 2000, and more events harder to solve. Lastly, the game is all not serious and does a great job entertaining players with cartoon graphics, exuberant diseases and colourful characters.
