Riddle of the Sphinx™ The Awakening (Enhanced Edition)

Wish I could undo my purchase - not good

It begins with a long narrative, which is completely lacking of actual instructions about gameplay. Standard WASD controls are gone, replaced with a directional click. From the very first moment I was given control of my character, I clicked inside the helicopter thinking I could inspect it, but to my surprise my character got inside and was flown to another location. No way to stop it - just had to let it play out... then do it again to get back to the starting point. Gameplay is horrible. Enter the tent and as you turn to the side, you see the table with the pot of stew. Click to the side again and you see the table with the pot of stew. That's right, the same location but in two screens. You can take pictures of pages of books, but for some reason you can't take the book. It's a tedious process taking pictures, because nothing separates important pages from unimportant pages, so basically you need to take pictures of all of the pages. The hint system is buried within another screen, so it's not at all dynamic - it's an interruption in gameplay to use the hints. In short, gameplay is really bad, the storyline seems to be broken into too many tiny pieces, and the graphics are weird. I purchased the entire deluxe version with all the extras. Really wish I hadn't. The game is unplayable by today's standards.
