Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Metroidvania as it's (almost) best.

I'll try to be as clear and concise as i can. It's a VERY good Metroidvania : the fighting, the atmosphere, the art direction, the voice acting, the progression, etc. Everything SCREAMS Castlevania. Which is good... ... until we get to the weapons "technique", which are reminiscent of games like "Tekken" to be pulled off. Mind you, i have personally nothing against games like Tekken or Soul Calibur ; the combos are sick beyond word. But here's the thing : Metroidvania ISN'T Tekken. If going through a needlessly complicated inputs setup is necessary to unleash a spinning attack, i just won't bother. It's not about "skills" but "ergonomy" ; it's takes me to press down, down left and left in the opposite direction where the character is facing and pressing the attack button in rapid succession to do the combo. Why not making it a simple "keep pressing the attack button to do the special attack" and be done with that ? 4 out of 5 because of this. Otherwise the game is fire.
