I remember playing this when I was in highschool, I even still have the original disc with manuals. Unfortunately I could never it to work on Win7, no matter what I tried. When I bought this, it worked like it was designed for Win7 64bit! Well done to the GoG team! Gamewise its a great game, if you are patient. This is a very long term planning 4x style game, ships will take months of game time to build with only a single Shipyard (which can be improved by building a ton of them) but the joy of the wait knowing that your Death Star is under construction as you scout the systems with probe droids hunting for Rebels is worth the investment (I only ever played Empire) I personally hated the ship battles, the interface is awful and is totally unintuitive to me, so I auto resolve and get back to the grand strategy of it all. Lots of clicking, lots of planning and building. I love it. Thrawn still never made me my Super Star Destroyer.
Loved this game when it first came out and am pleased to see it is still as fun as I remember. Its more a point and click game than a shooter, so dont expect it to be like Swat 3 or 4. One MAJOR issue, is that I cannot save anywhere in the game, between missions, outside of training, during training, during missions, nothing. It seems to be an issue with Dosbox but I cant see a fix for it :(
