The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Bought on whim, sucked me in, love it.

I bought this on a whim when I saw it on sale on a different digital distribution service... I thought it looked kinda neat, but thought it might be too nerdy... I installed it and boy was I pleasantly surprised. I'm not typically an RPG gamer and very few impress me or grab me and pull me into the world... Plus, I'm generally a fan of a little more interaction and action than a typical RPG features... The Witcher on the other hand was interactive enough, easy enough to grasp, and excellently paced. I had no issues hopping in and getting sucked into the world of The Witcher. Side quests were easy to follow, I never felt like I was getting lost in the game; yet there is more than enough content. The game lasted me a good 75 hours or so... Being able to make your own choices is great... The game has enough violence, blood, sex, vulgarity which makes the time period feel so much more dark and exciting. Upgrading your character is also easy enough, yet really allows you sculpt his skills/powers as you see fit. Overall, it really surprised me, and honestly for a game that came out years ago, I think the graphic quality is still good too. Some of the voice overs are strange as they don't match up with the mouths very well, but it never took away from the game for me. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys an RPG with a bit more action and character control over a conventional RPG. Or, if you're one that enjoys traditional over-the-shoulder action games, but with some extra character development and story decisions, give this a shot! Also, if you like dark, violent atmosphere, this is great too. The fact that your decisions and story integrates with the second game is even better... Go CD Projekt RED!
