65 hours and... oh boy, one more playthrough is already going. Need to check the mage build, but that's not a review. At first I was kinda expecting something like: ah another mod for Gothic 2, probably they will only make small changes to gameplay, create new map and that's it. I was never been so wrong in my entire life. First: world. God damn! Really big island with its own story, politics, problems and history. Everything makes sense and reading through ingame history book was more interesting than current news. It feels alive, full and changes that are happening accrodingly to your decisions are just mindblowing. And the dynamic events are just gold! Second: Plot. At times kinda predictible but still fun as hell. The way everything connects to everything is just outstanding. If you want to properly explore the story you will need at least 2 playthroughs just to check alternative decisions. Third: Characters. This is how it's done! Intresting, with their own background and motivations. I really want to see this attention to detail in modern AAA games. Mechanics: This is something for the devs: you got 120% out of gothic engine. I was not aware how good Piranhas made their engine and what you've done with it. Crafting - excellent, Cutscenes - master level, dynamic events - great, interaction with world - above the scale. Really good job on this! Last word: Leave your Skyrims, Fallouts and other modern RPGs and jump to Archolos. 10/10
This game was presented to future customers as next gen Jesus Christ, but in the end (after 2 delays) we're stuck with unplayable crap. The RPG part of it is magnificent: story, characters and dialogues, but the technical part is worse than anything: FPS drops, blocker issues which prevent the player from advancing in the story, 2013 graphics when not on RTX ULTRA BURNMYPC settings... I really understand that the product needs to go live but not in such terrible state. I think that even 10 patches won't fix the issues if CDPR will not do to this game the same as Hello Games with No Man's Sky. I don't believe also in bs that testing didn't cought all of this issues during testing phase of product development. They were aware of product state and pushed it to production without listening to GIGANTIC bugtracker base. I hope that someday this game will be playable but for now it's a disaster not worth anyones time or money.
