I have this and the extended edition. I was deeply saddened that I couldn't get the extended edition on GOG. The redux can't be modded, and the weapons are way too weak. If you alter weapons using some very handy console commands in the extended edition, the game play is incredible. You can even disable those annoyong droplet effects too, but keep the rain. You can't do these things in the Redux version. Such a shame. You do get a cool sword to swing around, but the weapons in my opinion are just so weak that is ruins the experience in the Redux. Such a simple little thing too. Devs need to add damage sliders, it makes all the diefference! In fact, just have a console and also enable all of the options in the darn thing!
I am not enjoying being forced to play other roles, as many of the activities are very dull. I just want to play RoboCop. This was a significant disappointment for me. There are a large number of bugs with objects clipping into RoboCop and the models are a lower quality in terms of their animation and lip-syncing. The voice acting seems even worse this time too with some very forced voices that are grating. It's definitely a buy if you loved the prior game, but don't set your expectations high, as the only improvement I am enjoying is the new freezing weapon. Other than that, the quality appears to be dropping, even a drop in the quality of environment design in general. Get it if you are a hardcore fan or wait for a sale if you are just somewhat keen.
I already own Fallout 4 on Steam and absolutely loved it. However, I hate the fact I actually don't own my games on Steam, despite paying full price. If Steam stopped operating, I would lose everything and that can happen in a heartbeat. I back-up every game I can on GOG and I tend to play the GOG versions only once they are available as they are faster, despite what companies like Denuvo claim.
There are no microtransactions. There are no grind elements. There is no missing content that requires DLC. There are no silly paid cosmetics that you FOMO over. Larian have swept that all aside to provide a classic feeling game delivered with modern graphics and a deeply rich and immersive story and environment, just like the good old days! It's a masterpiece and gets at the true core of what a PC game should be ... fun!
