Disco Elysium - The Final Cut

WARNING, YOU CAN*T COMPLETE THE GAME.

Overall, this game would have been a solif 4.5-ish star game. I love the story, the characters and the way you progress through the game as a whole. But...... The game revolves around leveling up different skills, like Perception, Logic, Empathy etc, so yoou can costomize your characters different every time. Here comes the part that dumps the overall score down by alot. There are hidden checks being done, that can only be visable and reacted to if you have a high enough skill in a certain category, and pass the hidden dice roll, and there is one part towards the end THAT YOU CAN FAIL, AND IF YOU DO, YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE GAME. It's absolutely unforgivable that this is still in here after a year and a half.

Close To The Sun

It's ok, just....ok.

It's a hard choice between 2 or 3 stars. The game looks nice, the premiss is decent and the story is also decent. Gameplay is very bland, the puzzles are few and very simple. It's more a playable cinematic story simulator than anything. Even on 25% sale I still think it's too much for this game.

Operencia: The Stolen Sun

Some things are just unbearable...

Disclaimer, I've played for about 3-4 hours hours. I'm at the boss of the Tomb of Reka. I like these rouge, dungeoncrawleresque games. This is no masterpeice, but what It does right, it really does right. The graphics look nice, the voiceacting is great, and exploration is fun. But then there are a few things that just make large parts of this game unbearable, and it's such a shame. -Really poor choice of starting companion. This feels like a joke. Your first companion is a mostly poisonbuilt ranger-ish type of character. He has access to some regular physical attacks to, but mostly poison. So here's the thing, 70-80% of all enemies you encounter the first 3-4 hours are either immune, or resisant to poison. Why on earth would this be the starting companion you get? He has one healing spell, and that's the only useful thing he does. -Limited amount of healing. So you heal by using firewood at campsites. You also use them for saving, and you can do that an unlimited amount. But you get so hesitant to use the resting option, because you don't know how much firewood you're going to get access to. You usually get into these questionable fight because you don't want to run back and "waste" a heal incase you need it for a boss. -The enemies are total douchebags. Here's 80% of all the encounters I've faced- 1. I try and kill one of the taunters on the first cycle but never succed, you are always like 1 or 2 hits away. 2. Now the second taunter will taunt you, and you cannot finish of the first one. 3. So now you have to focus on taking down the second taunter, who's now just going to sit there and block for 2 turns, and you're not going to be able tio kill it before....... 4. Now the first guy will taunt you, forcing you to waste most of your turn killing him, before you can kill the other taunter. 5. Now you can proceed to kill the rest. This is some of the worst combat I've ever played through in modern times.

Project Warlock

Quite after 2 minutes, here's why....

The developers unfortunatly commited one of the worst crimes in my opinion when it comes to PC Shooters. Not having true free look. By that I mean that the crosshair moves at the speed and precision of your regular mouse movements. This game does not. This game has that awful "dragging the crosshair through mud" feeling, which, in my book, makes a fastpaced shooter unplayable.

Conarium

Poor controls.

I haven't looked it up, but this feels like a console port. I can't stand point and click games where your cursor, even at high sensitivity, feels like it's drawn through mud. It's basic controls that should work. The in game cursor should have the same speed as outside the game. Not playing more than 10 minutes of this.

Dark Fall 2: Lights Out

Worse than the first.

Very boring game. 99% of the game is just zooming in on things, and if you haven't zoomed in on the right thing then you can't advance the game. You litterally can't go to an "open" path until you've zoomed in on the right picture. Everything that's written in curvive is hard to read, and annoying. Atmosphere is good. Step down from the first game in most cases.

Decent.

Fun game, but it tends to freeze now and then, and you can't tab out to close it. Annoying. Save often.

Hollow Knight

The best and worst of both worlds.

Pros: Interesting Rewards Exploration Good Music Lots of Secrets Decent Combat Generally Fun Cons: Spend hours walking in the wrong direction to get to a dead end Controlls are slightly off. Feels like it's a quarter of a second to slow from button to execution Uneven difficulty VERY gerneral directions/no directions at all Spend hours being lost On and of frustration
