Carto is a short puzzle game with a delightful art, music and story. The puzzles use all the same mechanic of playing with map pieces, which is original and fun, and the story is kind and warming. The game's length is perfect in my opinion, not very short but not long either, just the ideal for the gameplay not to become repetitive. I recommend Carto if you are looking for a fun and not very hard puzzle game with a cheerful art and music design.
Yuppie Psycho is a weird horror adventure game with some puzzles and a stealth gameplay. It is very similar to its younger brother, The Count Lucanor, the first game of the developer, but mostly better in all the senses. Yuppie Psycho setting is very original and unique, the characters are cool, and the story and all the weirdness surrounding it makes it appealing. Then for the art aspect I find this pixel art lovely, specially the cutscenes, and the sound design is very good too, with a soundtrack that set the mood correctly at every moment and some audio effects that will help a lot build tension at many moments. Finally its gameplay is simple but fun, some exploration to gather items, some puzzles and classical Use-Item-X-on-Y that are not really hard to figure out, and the stealth mechanic all work properly and make the game entertaining. Then the game included in late 2020 a free DLC with new content that is a very good addition to the game. Some new areas with a lot of content that lead to new endings, wich imho are cooler than the original endings. The DLC extend the game's life for some hours and are a truly great addition, making the game great. Totally recommended to play, and if you enjoy it, check the little brother, The Count Lucanor ;)
The Count Lucanor is a short indie game of exploration and puzzles with a simple but cool stealth gameplay and a weirdly interesting setting and set of characters. The story and the general atmosphere of the game were very cool and got me hooked to it, and it even has different endings which is nice. Overall it was easy for me to finish the game, but it is ok since the movement is slow and repeating sections of the game can get a bit annoying. A simple but fun exploration+puzzle+stealth game, with weird and cool atmosphere and a short duration, I truly recommend this as a little indie candy, which I enjoyed a lot. In fact after playing The Count Lucanor I am convinced to buy Yuppie Psycho soon, the next game from the developers, which seems to keep the gameplay and weirdness but polish the game and extend the length and scope of the game.
Shardlight is a short adventure game with a mildly interesting setup and story. The story develops well with some plot twists and not falling on being too static or dull, even if its not one of the best stories out there it is good. The puzzles were mostly simple and straightforward, just 2 or 3 demanded me to think more than a minute, but this isn't bad for me, since I find annoying adventure games with crazy puzzles without logic or that keep me a lot of time blocked. Still just 2 or 3 were remarkable as great puzzles. Then the voice acting is nicely done, making the game more engaging. As a summary, a short and nice adventure, maybe not one of the best adventure games out there, but I still have fun and really enjoyed it.
