A $60 lesson to young gamers who "can't wait." Hopefully, it will be the last time my son is taken in by the hype. He says he's done with pre-orders. It simply does not live up to expectations...and of course, it doesn't run smoothly, so it's a lesson in frustration, rather than a fun break from the day. Echo the 10 fps at low res/perf/low everything. Echo poor optimization. Echo just about every other complaint. But even with performance issues resolved: "I thought I'd be able to do anything, that it would be open-ended. I thought I could build, explore, form allegiances, play with friends...but no, I couldn't do any of that." So, it's a failure on both performance & game play...game play based on pre-launch marketing. And...so far, GOG isn't showing any inclinations at a refund. My son wishes he'd bought it on Steam because their refund policy is hassle-free.
