Trine is one of the few indie games that stand out among AAA titles. The graphics of the game are absolutely gorgeous. It's colorful and bright, like a world of skittles. It's imaginative and overall just a pleasure to look at. The gameplay is a sort of mix bag, as you can alternate between the three characters. Playing as the mage was the most entertaining for me, as the physics puzzles were just terrific. I love non-linear puzzle solving. Playing as the other two was very meh. I was never able to understand how the thief played, and her physics were whack. The tank was...well, kind of out of place in what I thought was a puzzle and platforming game. There are two final annoyances: the last level was extremely difficult and the game didn't really prepare you for it. And lastly, enemies will respawn at the same hole for about 5-6 times, with a gap in between. That was just annoying, and really unnecessary for a puzzle/platformer. These faults are not enough to distract from this absolute gem though.
