StarCrawlers

A Classic in the Making

I don't write a lot of these...particularly for games that are still in development. I decided to make an exception for this game because I think it's going to be absolutely amazing. (It' pretty amazing as it is right now) I bought Starcrawlers here on GOG literally an hour before XCOM 2 went live, a game I had been giddy about for a long while. XCOM EU/EW is on my top 10 list of all time favorite games, and I've logged hundreds of joy filled hours with the game, but I needed something to do while I waited for the XCOM 2 preload to unpack...and Starcrawlers was my choice. It was a fantastic choice as it turns out. I'm not shy about buying games in development, but I don't usually do much more than make a brief test run until the games actually go gold. With that in mind, I haven't logged a ton of time in Starcrawlers, but it managed to suck me in in a way that very few games do these days. With the exception of Darkest Dungeon, I haven't played an incomplete title as much as I have played Starcrawlers. Cheers to the devs for creating a tremendously interesting and entertaining game. Long story short, instead of playing XCOM 2 before bed that night, I ended up playing Starcrawlers the entire time...and was really bummed when bedtime arrived. I'm actually fighting the urge to play this every day, as I really want to get the optimal experience of the completed game. This game is a really fun classically styled dungeon crawler and it's well worth the price of admission if that's your kind of thing. Hell, it's worth a look even if this style of game isn't really your thing, but looks even vaguely interesting to you. Good on the devs for creating a game capable of shaking me out of the ennui that has become the sad hallmark of my recent gaming life...I am REALLY looking forward to playing this game when it's done. Also, thanks to GOG for providing the well curated environment that gave me the opportunity to buy this little gem with a sense of security.

Fun and Easy to Get Into

This game is just flat out fun...'nuff said. It's a steal at its price point. Sure wish I had known it was coming to GOG though...stupid Steam...*Grumble*
