Might and Magic® 9

WHY DID IT END THIS WAY?

Might and magic 9, the first computer rpg I've ever played. I thought it was good at the time. I thought a lot of things were good when I was 9 years old. But playing this heaping pile of crap now just hurts. What's wrong with it? Tons of glitches, crazy difficulty, terrible graphics, terrible story and loads of padding. My god, I wouldn't have even RELEASED the game in this state. I understand it was rushed, but that leads me to the positives for it. 9's character system and skill point system is awesome. It's easier, simple, and surprisingly well implemented. Plus, the voice acting, while silly, can be pretty convincing. Some people got into character well, like Markel The Great. But, that doesn't save the game. Good lord, why this game even exists is just mind boggling. Don't buy this, just get the older games instead.

Wizardry 8

A Great Game That Aged Like Cheese.

Now before you all angerly click "no" on the "Was this helpful?" option, let me get this out of the way: I USED to like this game. Back in '04 I had a blast playing this. Here I am now, playing it again and just feeling let down. This game is very grindy, even if you solo through it, and there's a lack of side-quests and just interesting things in general. If you're a beginniner, the class system will murder you, because it's very complex. Which is a problem for this game, it's too complex for one to enjoy. A game can be hard even if it's easy to understand, but this game is just annoyingly complex and it can hinder your experience with it. You can get the hang of it, but the boring, slow, turn based battles may turn many people off from it. You can try real time mode, but I don't find that helping very much. If you're curious about this game and have played many rpgs before it, give it a shot. If you're not curious or newer to classic rpgs, ignore it. Instead, alternatives like Might and Magic are available for you, which I find superior. But that's just my opinion. Many people do enjoy this game, and I don't, despite past experiences with it.

Lands of Lore™ 1+2

One Hell of A Leap.

I got this particularly because of the first game. I really love games with a first person view, and a party of characters. After playing the first game for a bit, I can safely say it alone would be worth the investment. The second game throws a curveball and introduces a new gameplay style. Is it still worth it? Oh yeah it is! Lands of Lore 2 is also a fantastic game, and gives you directions unlike the first. That leads me to my complaint. Lands of Lore 1 has aged poorly with direction and you might need a walkthrough for some parts due to the game leaving you no clues. That being said, these games are fun as hell, and I'd recommend picking them up.

RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Complete Edition

Great but wow, that price is not nice.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is a ball to play. Creative single player campaign, awesome sandbox mode and a butt load of extras. Ho daddy! I'm lucky I got this on sale though. This game is really pricy. It needs a reduction. But hey, if you wanted to make your own rollercoasters AND ride them, now's your chance.
