In my personal top ten of all time favourite games. I've loved this since the late lamented genius Mike Singleton released it on my C64 gaming eons ago. A game from 1984 that I still play today on my emulators and have thoroughly enjoyed again in its new life here on GOG. 36 years of gaming last-ability now that's what I call value for money :) Loving the additional novella and artworks etc as well. SUPERB

Yes, this IS the daddy and don't you forget it. The single best and probably most modded game in FPS history. It's Quake contempory was great, vicious, organic and exciting given evenly matched players. Yet, still for me this game is the daddy. The latter incarnations or UT are also superb but it's still this with it's HUGE modding back catalogue (giving the game a massive amount of additional maps, mods and most of all replayability that wins the day. Damn I loved this game and damn it after all this time, I still do. I still play it now, even with all the latter incarnations on my HD as well - just for the wonderful variety of maps and mods (Far too many to list here) - and they're still being made to this day. Probably the best value for money purchase, if you like the FPS genre, you will ever make. Buy this and get umpteen new games with it due to the MODing community. You can't say fairer than that can you ?
If ever ANY game deservered the title CLASSIC, then well, lets be honest it's this. Nostalgia apart (and yes, I have very recently replayed this) it is still one of the best games i've EVER played and my back/current catelogue is VERY extensive. Going back to my C64 days only Heavy Metal Paradroid (the later incarnations were variable but never matched this one) and this game, are still are residnt on a souped up PC that 10 years ago could have send man to the moon. Look, lets make this simple, if you don't already own this then buy this, don't even give it another thought, buy this as it's a piece of gaming history and still a great game to play.
A VERY, VERY strong game (Especially with the ADD-ON). The entire series was magnificent and yet sadly under rated in some quarters of the gaming press. I suppose you can forgive this when you've a limited amount of playing time to devote with a press release imminent but this is a game (And indeed series) that has a HUGE amount of depth and freedom which no one with any RPG interest should ignore. The genre has expanded in many diverging ways since this release but those new RPG's that ignore the lessons delivered by games such as this have and will fail. Treat yourself, buy this it's gaming as gaming should be, you won't regret it.
