The game itself is worth playing. I enjoyed it and almost finished it in a single sitting. Now the problem with that... and why i'm giving it just 3 stars. Since I've been playing for a really long time I guess my memory failed and the game crashed, which happens sometimes with other games too. (This is my PC's fault). Okay, just restart, no problem... BUT after I booted up again, I couldn't load my save. After looking it up on the internet it turns out that when the game crashes there's a reasonable chance that it will corrupt the save, which is what happened to me I think. I hadn't stopped the game for over 12 hours and I didn't have a cloud save backed up, so I was in a really bad spot. Thankfully I had really little of the game left to complete and I downloaded a complete save from Nexus mods to play the final levels and boss which I had left to complete, but that was really frustrating and just for that it deserves a lower star.
At first the atmoshpere is creepy, but as I started to understand the game itself, it became less so. Regardless of that, even without the jumpscares, it's still a pretty solid experience that sort of deserves the title of scary. I had a some stutters when loading new areas, but other than that the game has been pretty smooth for the most part. The graphics are nice and so is the gameplay. DON'T BE CHEAP WITH RESOURCES - they are not scarce, the game is spawning loot according to your needs, so do not be afraid to utilise whatever gear you have.
This trilogy of phenomenal games is something that I should've played sooner. Very well told story and great character development. There is some jankiness to be met sometimes, but the overall experience is as solid as the protagonist's will.
This game is fantastic in the way it innovates with the idea of exploring books. It's only shortcoming really is the medium length story, however, that doesn't mean it wasn't finished or thorough. The story is very much complete at this length and extending it would have been a welcome extra. If anyone is reading and the game is on sale, then by all means, go ahead and treat yourself to something new.
Barely qualified for 4 star rating, but it was worth playing through once. Although I'm on my second playthrough now, it isn't as exciting as replaying "Chapter One" , which was longer and ultimately more anjoyable. This game improves in several small aspects, except in length, where it is comparatevly shorter than it's predecessor. It's also worth mentioning that it runs many times more smoothly than "Chapter One", at least; Even though it has bigger hardware requirements, it runs better than the first game. If it's on sale, I recommend it.
This is one of the most spectacular games ever made. To believe that a small world of bugs would be so intriguing to explore and experience. It's unbelievably good for the price and it's worth every single penny. I got it on PS Plus a few years back and recently bought it again on PC just to play it with mods and also got the soundtracks to support the developers and Christopher Larkin.
