NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound

PERFECTION!!

As the biggest Ninja Gaiden fan, and it being my all time favorite game, Ragebound takes me back to my childhood of the first time playing this on the NES. I love everything about this title; snappy gameplay, music, the way it handles the story tie-ins to the original, while adding new elements as well as almost easter egg type homage (looking at you Kumori - reminding me of the spirit split assists from classic Ninja Gaiden ii Dark Sword of Chaos). They have done an outstanding job here. This game sits very well with me. The Game Kitchen added improvements, I didn't know that I wanted such as, but not limited to; stage select (and in a way that allows you to skip their brilliant tutorials after you have already experienced them), permanent MEANINGFUL upgrades, brief cutscenes that honor the originals, but can still be skipped, a moveset that jives well for Kenji, and so on. I could go on, an on about all the meticulous details I notice about this game without giving it a proper review, but I won't (because I want to get back to playing). No studio could have hit all the right keynotes for my love for Ninja Gaiden as well as The Game Kitchen did. Thank you for not only keeping my fond memories intact for this awesome franchise, but also improving on them just as the originals added improvements to the sequels. Nothing, but love here from developers that know their stuff!! I rate this a 12 out of 10!

Streets Of Rage 4 - Mr. X Nightmare

Best DLC Ever!!

Game was already worth it before the DLC dropped. Now that it is out I had to review the DLC, and I am going to advise this game is worth it in all of it's glory. If there was ever a DLC that was worth it, this is the one! I am not going to go into detail in what this content provides, 1) because I am more interested in getting back to the game. 2) The trailer provides a excellent representation of what you are getting. So awesome, Estel was added as a playable character. Every since I laid eyes on her in single player, I wanted to play as her, and she does not disappoint. Normally, I never care too much about "Survival" modes in games, because... I don't know. I just don't care for them, but this one is the exception. This survival mode feels like a completely fresh take on the game, and gameplay. Right now my in-game time is split between unlocking moves in survival, and going back to play single player stages to earn character unlocks. Love this game!! Go get it already. Now back to it.

Hellpoint

My New Favorite

I simply love all that Hellpoint has to offer. Even the title screen ties into the premise of what this space venture is about. From it's aesthetics to gameplay, everything feels superb. I really don't want to go into any real detail with this review, since the intrigue of finding out what makes this game tick was part of the fun for me, I am truly immersed in this game world, and have not felt like this since Dead Space, and Mass Effect 2. Outstanding job Devs!! 2 Thumbs wayyy up from me. Now back to me enjoying my purchase.

ELDERBORN

I Love Elderborn!!

I am seriously loving this game!! The slick presentation, atmosphere, and combat are all great. I don't have a lot of experience with first person melee combat games, so this is very refreshing. I am still very much early in the game because I am leveling up my character so I can steam roll over these chump enemies LOL!! I really wanted to leave a first impressions to those who may be looking into Elderborn since this is launch week, and the game is on sale. I would have had no problems at all purchasing this after the sale, after all I did purchase 2 Metal AF copies of the game. Kudos to the devs, you have done an outstanding job on this title.

Battle Planet - Judgement Day

Awesome Game!!

I love everything about Battle Planet - Judgement Day. The gameplay, premise, and visual aesthetics are all superb. The permanent progression allows unspent upgrade chips to carry over to subsequent runs, while weapons, along with item upgrades can be shared by all characters. Meaning you only have to use your points on those two categories once. This allows you to focus on upgrading character specific traits between runs, or at upgrade posts after missions. The gameplay loop is based on being fair to the player, which makes it hard to stop playing. Battle Planet feels fast, frenetic, and fun!! Controlling each avatar feels unique, and the overall feel of the game is buttery smooth. No complaints here, just a great game. Cheers to the development team.
