Townsmen - A Kingdom Rebuilt

Fun midieval resource management sim

This is an intuitive, time and resource management game with plenty of RTS to make things interesting. The 'tutorial' wasn't too annoying and it was challenging enough to be worth playing through 6 maps. You get XP and research while playing and the levels are easy but challenging. The 'campaign' is the tutorial and the 'scenarios' are the campaign. The campaign consists of 6 levels. Each level is a map where you oversee an area large enough to build a massive town and still have plenty of wilderness. Each level has missions and involves building a midieval town using monarchy economics. There's resarch and a tech tree. The scenarios are also like the campaign but a lot more difficult as the game adds all sorts of extra difficulty such as plagues and bandits. Once a level is complete, you can keep playing but I wouldn't, it's too repetitive, just start another scenario. There's an 'endless' mode with a few levels to play if you want to just keep playing a single scenario and keep unique challenges coming. There's a DLC that adds a bunch of additional scenarios and some extra content, but mostly aesthetics.

Anomaly 2

I don't like the commander

In the mobile version of this game I was the commander. I'n this PC version I have to control or should I say micromanage a little character who always gets in the way of enemy fire and dies while I'm trying to place down powerups for my mech units. Now I'm sure there's a way to juggle all that while trying not to allow all my mech units to die in Nightmare mode, but it's not fun and it's just silly after playing the mobile version where I am the commander. That version was challenging enough, but the story was engaging and the end was really satisfying too. Please add an option to be the commander to this PC version!
