Blood: Fresh Supply

Renowed classic

Cant go wrong with nineties boomer shooter. In the todays world of overwhelming open world maps with bilions of collectibles, sidequests and an overwhelming skill tree and thousands of mechanics and gimmicks its nice to just go back to the simple times of running and gunning. Doesnt mean the game is not challenging tho. You can play on the easier two difficulties, but those are laughibly easy. The third one is where the true experience really is, called LIGHTLY BROILED and is considered ,,medium" yet its more challenging than medium difficulty in other games. You gotta be lightingly fast and precise (after all Caleb is indeed a gunslinger :) ) The extreme spike between the easy difficulty and medium difficulty is actually my only complain. If you are just starting with the game, you will probably be frustrated with the laughible borring easiness of PINK ON THE INSIDE and in times unfairness of LIGHTLY BROILED and on the later difficulty you gonna die a lot, untill you get better and master the dynamite which in my opinion is the main weapon of the game together with shotgun.

Rayman 2: The Great Escape

Not as good as when I was a kid

Its a great nostalgia, nevertheless the PC version is not as good as the console version. Graphics looks worse, no english dub as that was implemented into console version later. In PC version they speak Raymanian giberish (kinda like in Sims) The soundtrack is kinda all over the place. Sometimes a different song that was ment for a certain level starts playing in a different level, mostly the third song from the OST named The Woods of Light, which sounds more like it would fit into the first levels of Spyro (cool funky bass guitar track). Yet I know it has its rightful place in this game, but sometimes it doesnt fit the setting of jumping over huge lilipads, evading huge scary piranas in a swamp at night. Eric Chevalier composed an awesome OST for this game and this random track throwing at random moments kinda do it disservice. If you can stick with a Nintendo or PS version, do it. If not, buy this, its like 5 bucks, but even that seems to me like too much for this port. At least until Ubisoft gets their s**t together and finaly realize, that a remake of the first 3 Rayman games is the only thing that can save them now.

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain

why 90s games are superior

Blood omen shows us why 90s videogames are superior to current gaming. Although outdated graphics, from mechanical standpoint its great. Writing is superb. Dialogs and monologs are very Shakespearian, for which the Legacy of Kain series has been always known. You got tons of options how to handle a room full of enemies. lots of various spells and objects. The mechanics are very well though out. It encourages experimentation, exploration and source managing. You gotta think. Cant just chugg all the chained prisoners on the way or a whole willage. You may need that blood later. You will not just get all the spells following the main path. you gotta find them. When the game doesnt hold your hand, the reward is so much sweeter. I still have some complaints tho. Mainly with the quick menu. Its almost like its buged. I can bind 4 items/spells to it but there is a 5th slot in the center and even tho sometimes recently picked up items are shown there and I can even select that slot with them to use them, I cant bind anything manualy to it myself. What is also very frustrating is how traps can stunlock you and drain your whole life in a second. Other than that its great fun. Recomended.

Thief Simulator

Gets old really fast

As majority of these indie ,,simulators" it gets boring really fast. you check out a house, either buy intel like tenants schedule, opened window, hole in a fence or vine to climb up, but you can just as much find it a note it down yourself. wait for tenants to go out, go in, loot some stuff till your backpack is full, get out, sell stuff, return, loot more stuff till backpack full, get out, sell stuff and rinse and repeat.....

Quake Enhanced

Cant go wrong with Quake

If you are tired of modern shooters and the overbundence of mechanics like skill tree, map, collectibles and other tons of crap like me, go with a boomer shooter. Its just simple fun.

Devil's Hunt

Worst game I ever played

This is seriously the worst game I ever played, and I played a lot of bad games throughout my life. Its inconsistent, buggy, janky and it just sucks overall. The whole thing feels like ,,on a rail" game. You can only peform certain action on a very specific spot. You can only jump down from THIS particular spot. Cant absolutely deviate from the ,,rail path" (in an arena room) noooo that would take time to code. When I could not jump into a pool from one side, cause ability to jump down was coded only from the other side, I knew then and then I want a refund. When I had no other option than to kill my friend who betrayed me in a scene that could have been just a cutscene, even tho the scene is set up like there is an option, I knew there and there this is the worst thing I ever played. Dont waste money in this. The state of this game for any price is a scam.

Mafia Classic

Nostalgia is a powerful weapon

This game is my childhood. It has a certain charm that the Definitive Edition lacks. Unfortunately there are some performence issues, stutters and glitches that were not present in 2001. a stutter when enemies are loading in for example and some flickering textures here and there. some of that can be fixed with mods. The bigest con is that the Django Reinhardt music, that is a big part of the experience had to be taken out due to copyright issues, but even that can be fixed with patching so you can enjoy the ride with jazzy swing tunes to get properly immersed in the criminal underworld of 1930 mobsters

Painkiller Black Edition

A renowed classic

With a bit of modding to fix the stratching and FOV Painkiller can be a great experience from the golden times of gaming when games were simple and fun.

DOOM I Enhanced

One of the top FPS games to this day!

How is it possible, that if I play any modern FPS, I'll get burned out in few minutes, but if I'll get on DooM for few minutes just to kill some time, I'll get lost in it for 6 hours straight! Perfect fun still to this day. guaranteed.
