Stop Rewarding A Game Because It's DRM-FREE! 4.7 out of 5 for this game is rediculous and a lsap in the face to developers that actually give a damn and do the work. This is downright disrespectful. This game was one of the worse ports on PC even for 2013. It makes no sense to have a game that can't run above 1080p. They had a perfect opportunity to update this game and do the work that they didn't do back then. But nah, just release it and make more money but give nothing back to the people who have supported the titled. But then again why should they, because y'all are rewarding mediocrity. Then you wonder why the gaming industry is in shambles.
This (below) was the main points of my review of this abysmal foolishness when it first hit steam years ago. Long story short only 15-20% of this game is playable offline. I can't believe IO did the same copy and paste nonsense for a DRM-FREE version. These people are truly mental & desperate for money. But they aren't desperate for change. This is truly sickening to see on GOG. It was sickening in steam and it is blasphemy here. Games like this is why I stopped buying DRM games all together. This is how bad things are if you try to play OFFLINE IN A SINGLE PLAYER GAME +HItman Has Subplay menus: Featured, Destination, Story, Contracts & Career All you have Access to is Story. You can play the story, where you go from point A to Point B. Each Destination/Story has 45,93 & 91 Seperate Challenges. You DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ANY OF THOSE challenges UNLESS YOU ARE ONLINE. +If don't have access to CAREER & CHALLENGES you will not be able to progress in the game or unlock anything at all Basically you only get to play 15-20% of the game if you are Offline.
Stay away until [FLR] Error is eradicated from the game. It seems that this has been a problem since launch. They claimed to have fixed the issue and now it has returned bigger and more bold as ever after the Kraken Update. I waited to buy 3 months after release, in order to avoid such issues. But the Vulkan API is borked in this game. Yes there are people that have no problems (so they say) But what they aren't telling you is that you have to tweak the crap out of the settings and if you try playing this game above the Medium preset it will crash to desktop with the [FLR] Error. What you have to ask yourself is, do you want to take such a risk with your money. If the answer is yes then by all means go ahead. If you can wait, wait. I have a very beefy rig and i have to play the game on Medium presets in order to get it to function. I love and adore ths franchise but The Surge 2 is my greatest disappointment so Far in 2020. I'm seriously considering a REFUND. This is what you have to look forward to every 5 minutes or even before you load the game into the play area. This is a Very Good Game. Please do not listen to the Dark Souls Fuq-boys. If yu want Dark Souls, go play Dark Souls. This is Lords Of the Fallen. Unlike Dark Souls, this game doesn't control like it's On Crack. Buy it and Love it but do not come here expecting to play Crap-Souls. This game stands on it's own feat. These are the same developers that did the Surge & I take Lords Of The fallen & The Surge Over any rubbish that comes from FROM SOFTWARE and their copy and paste series Crappy ports. called Dark Souls BUY IT!!!! & Please stop comparing this Game to Dark Souls. Because Dark Souls was not the first game of this Genre.
This game was clearly design for the GAMERS and not JUST the Investors. These dveleopers understand that if you want to make money, you must first create a superior product and stand by it. Shadow Warrior 2 is that product. Please buy this game and support, so we may see many more like this. Ubisoft, 2k,EA and all the rest needs to just stop making games and leave it up to the professionals. Shadow Warrior 2 Is my Witcher 3 of 2016. Well Done, thank you for all your hard work. I don't generally fancy First person Games, but i've always loved this series. If you can convert a strictly 3rd person gamer, you know you have a great product on your hands.
