Tinhead

A chilldhood calssic but barebones release.

I'm happy to give money to relive a classic Genesis game I played a ton as a kid but do be aware, this is a very bare bones release. There is just one screen filter (CRT) which is a bit too thick I have to say. The game is blurry even without the filter. You'll have other options for window sizes which are really basic. (x2, x3,x4, no resolutions given). Combine that with an the input settings and 3 save slots, thats all you get with this release. I mean its nice to be able to support Tinhead as its one of my favorite Genesis games as kid, and I think the game is still a solid platformer. As a big Mega Man fan it his a similar spot. I just think there isn't enough here even for a $8 release. The game doesn't even have a icon on the start bar. If you want a pretty fun kiddie platformer, or want to relive your childhood its a nice buy, but do know not very much effort was put in this release. Emulators are still the best way to play this for the sharper visuals and better filter options. For what its worth, if you want to play Tinhead, this lets you play Tinhead. It's really as bare as that.

POSTAL: Classic and Uncut

Running with Scissors, sell this game.

I played Postal as a kid. It was a cool game back then. Even more so now! Which shows that people remain violent and craving for blood their whole lives. Postal is a harmful game that should be played by children. Of course, I believe that someone who plays it will shoot people in the neighborhood. What I find fantastic is its lack of empathy. And to top it all off, the fact that its creators come from a country where 762 people died in 2022 only adds to its replay value. GOG, tell Running with Scissors to let me pay for this game.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy

Asking Forever, We finally Got It!

Thanks GOG. Its about damn time! This is the most stable way to play classic trilogy yet. Fan patches always made for some hacky stuff. This release is sleek, and makes running the game not like resurrecting the dead. The program runs well and is responsive. Yes, that is the program, not the DOS version. However there are still visual glitches when running in windowed mode. Small issue since its only on a few stages but just fyi. Another good point about this version is that you can use your D-Pad to play and arent stuck to the joystick! If you only could have fixed that for MK4! tl:dr ------------- -Not the DOS version -Has Netplay Multiplayer (See the window in Windowed Mode) -Visual Glitches in windowed mode not fixed for this version. (Certain Stages like Khans Arena/ Courtuyard) -Can use your D-Pad! Joystick does override it like in the GOG MK4 release. -Runs Smooth

Sword of the Samurai

Hidden Gem

I bought it while on sale cause it looked interesting. Glad I did, I spent hours straight playing it after it installed. Its an older game but has aged very well. The Mini games and politics are fun. Its like some old dos version of Mount and Blade but with Ronin Samurai. Raise your army, do side quests, and conquer the surrounding land with your army. Grow old, retire, and let your son take on your legacy to try and become Shogun of Japan. That is if he hasn't been kidnapped by ninjas... (RIP Kenshiro, soon to be avenged by his brother, Kenshi) It is a simplisitc game, but I think that makes the replayability addicting. Very easy to jump in and get into. Even has decent joystick support. It's well worth your time and money. Pleasantly surprised a game from 1989 can surprise me in 2021.

Witchaven I & II Bundle

I crave this style of medieval fantasy.

The box art is cool. The game's artstyle style is cool. I really dig this style of dark fantasy and melee combat. Its super satisfying slashing through hordes of demons. Some might not enjoy its simplicity, but its definitely up my alley. For 2 games at $5 each, why not give it a shot? For many like me, its a hidden gem.

METAL GEAR SOLID

A+ GOG Addition

Some will recommend them, however you lose the FMV's in cutscenes with fan patches. I just can't accept that. Rest assured if you play straight from GOG or use the fan patches, this is another way to play MGS1. Nothing has to be said about it. Its a near perfect game. If you haven't played MGS before for some reason, this is your chance.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

What went wrong?

Was really excited for this one but turned out to be a big bummer. Inferior to New Order in every way. Stack a bunch of annoying characters on top of an already less than stellar experience and you got a game where you finish and go "What the hell is this?". Direction is clearly in the wrong way. tl/dr: Its disappointing. Get The New Order instead.
