Clash: Artifacts of Chaos

This is a fantastic game!

I've played this game on Steam before, and it's quickly become one of my favorites. The artstyle is gorgeous with each image looking hand drawn. The character designs are really out there, but it all contributes to the unique style of the game. Combat is a ton of fun, once you get the hang of it. It took me way too long to figure it out on my own, so I'd recommend looking up a guide if it doesn't click immediately. The writing comes from the wonderful Jonas Kyratzes of Talos Principle fame, and he shows off his skill once more. Also the music does a great job of giving each scenery its own mood and feel. The game is a bit rough at the edges, like you're unable to zoom in on the rather small map, or most loot becomes obsolete in the latter half of the game. I also disliked that weapons break after a couple of hits and you can't even store more than one of each type. But in any case, hand-to-hand combat is the most fun to play, so it doesn't matter that much. I've encountered a few bugs and crashes, but nothing serious. So if you're looking for a soulslike that isn't just grim and dark, has combat with a surprising level of depth, and a story with a lot of heart, you should give this game a try. It is truly one of a kind.
