After seeing all the reviews saying that this is the version to use over the Steam one, I purchased it. On a Windows 10 Machine, the game can not get past the EA and Crave logos without crashing. There are even GOG forum posts about this issue when running on Windows 10 dating back to 2018. The Base recommendations are running as administrator and using various Windows versions of compatibility mode. There is also some talk Freedom Force having V-Sync issues, and running it in windowed mode will prevent the crashing. I have tried running as administrator for all Compatibility Mode Options, windowed and full screen, and nothing resolves. I have also gone through the all of the GOG launch trouble shooting options, and have installed Direct X packages, and now can get the game to crash before the logos 2/3 of the time. Sweet! Other forum recommendations are to use DLLs from pirated copies, or using the actual CD version of the game. Not very helpful... I don't have access to a Windows 11 Machine, but the forum posts I found said they had the same issue. If this issue hasn't been resolved since 2018, it likely won't be. Don't waste your money. I am asking for a refund.
