I didn`t expect much but this is better than I expected. It`s probably been said before, but it has an extremely Baldur`s GGate 2 feel. Some parts of it, look like they`re taken almost straight out of that, except animation and graphics is much better and you can even zoom in a little. Graphics is really nice, even though everything is from a far top-down view. Music`s pretty good. General side Quest and stories are quite interesting. I`m tired of the constant he/she, him/her talk though on items, spells, characters. It`s like they copied pasted "he" with him/her, so you can`t go by one sentence without it. Just say him or her depending on situation and generally just use he, stop pandering. I know I waste my time. Also female statues that represent goddesses are rubbish, they look nothing like you`d expect. Nothing `godlike` about them. Skyrim`s look right, for an example. Might as well just be a statue of a man, they can`t look like traditional female statues for muh feminism, I suspect. Really kills the feeling of an ancient medievalesque world. Anyway. It`s pretty good so far.

This game must be nigh on 20 years old. My FF sidewinder joystick is nigh 20 years old... Both work perfectly!! The Sidewinder Force Feedback force still throws itself about if you get hit, etc! Can hardly believe it. If you still have this great stick try it with this game! Oh, and the game while a departure from standard Xcom is a pretty good space flight sim with strategy and bases developing, resource ordering details. You`ll not just be flying shooting aliens but also sorting out ships, weapons, recruits and all the rest to order.

You`ve crashed a space ship on a planet and need to rumble out in a 3 vehicle convoy to find the parts to fix the ship. On the way you meet many random fights and incidents and must deal with these. Think Mad Max. I like how the game is quite randomised and if lucky you can power through and get pretty strong vehicles and go on for hours or be wiped out in 10 minutes. But it`s not just luck with actual strategic and tactical wisdom you can avoid dying. For instance, always upgrade and repair asap, every time, when you get some spare sparts or something new. You`ll need it. It plays dead is dead. You get killed, start a new game. I like this as it makes you quite invested to survive the best you can instead of just lazily reloading. There are some little nods and witty encounters. I like how you can pretty much be nice, be mean or just shoot anyone you meet, although for some things the game just forces you to shoot someone dead. I`d really like the choice to just drive away instead, even if it`s an evil raider. The game would`ve been great if done in a 3rd person type view with the bouncing vehicles jostling and shooting eachother. Just watching it from a top-down loses some of the excitement this could have had. For instance, you don`t really get that sense of dangerous speed. It`s ok for s short gaming spell when you don`t have time for anything else. I would`ve liked more customisation (colours of vehicles etc).

I excitedly bought and installed this game, ran it to hear a crappy set of sound effect that instantly killed the immersion. Then I realised I played the AMIGA version of the game, which at the time was far better with game sound and graphics than the old IBM type pcs. The sounds are biggest killer as that`s what the Amiga excelled at and what I thought we had here. Sound is really important, especially when the graphics were never that great and the Amiga had the best sounds; clunking feet sounded like clunking feet, Rooks trodded around and grunted, Pawns were wiped out in various ways with screams. I can only give this version 3 stars, no more. It`s a chess game, but so let down by this version, I couldn`t even be bothered to play. On the plus side you get 2 other games, a Chinese one and a futuristic chess game I`d never heard of. Haven`t bothered trying them. Disappointed as it was the GOOD Battle Chess I was looking forward to, had great times with it with my friends at the time.

Mods do work, though you have to do a little extra work, but it`s niot that hard. there`s already a review post that says how to do it. I already had this on Steam as I never thought it would come out on GOG. Bought it again (on Sale this time) because I like independent gaming where I am not tied to the internet by an Online DRM. Now if the net dies for any reason I can still run it, and who knows what will happen in this turbulent 2020! Some people say some bits are missing, but everything seems legit from my play so far. That said, I never played online, I`m a Single Player Guy. Short Review: This is a turn based stratgey game of you fighting to free Earth from Aliens. the tactics are a little simplified from the original, original Xcom, but still quite indepth and plays every bit as severely as the originals. It will punish you hard on even normal until you learn. prepare to lose people. You have snipers, heavy gunners, stealth guys and even psionics with enough research. Your people are all customisable or let the game create them for you, this really makes you invested in your crew. Best played on Iron Man, but you don`t have to. Alien enemies are very varied and give as good as they get. You are in a constant arms race as you rsearch captured alien tech and they bring on better alien stuff to stop you with. There`s much more to this game than I write here, but all I can say is buy this game and its add-ons (pretty much all the add-ons are good save 1 but it`s worth getting for the extra custom stuff) while you can. It is seriously worth it on GOG. Deserved 5 stars.

You`re the boss of a hospital and have to basically `boss` it! You have to do almost everything, from buying or renting to plots, to buying a building for the plots to employing the staff and everything else. Very indpeth. What I like the most about it doesn`t give a toss for political correctness. It`s a game for the lads who like tit and bum and nekkid ladies, as I do. And it really don`t care. It`s a breath of frsh air. Of course it`s not going to please certain people, so just don`t buy if this would offend you. Sounds are basic. Artworks pretty ok, although I wonder if I can mod this to add my own? It`ll keep you busy in management and when you get bored, you got a lot of ladies to drool over!

Ok, well it has the Rifleman, one of my fave Mechs since the good old 1980/90s when I was a kid and Devs just made GOOD games (free of gender politics) - although some say it was part of the patch, if so I don`t have much to say about the exp itself. There are a couple of extra mechs although i`m not sure which are new. There are some new weapons systems, but I`m certain some of these things are out of chronological order. they look like Clan stuff, which shouldn`t exist yet. Can`t help but get the feeling hat they don`t care for the good old Battletech experience that many of us had in the 90s. Sad.

Too little. Art design still feels `off`. Mechs did nothing for me. Didn`t see much of anything that I thought added to the game except for the Jungle bio which is ok. The problem with these environments is they`re too few types and they`re not dynamic. How about forests catching fire after too much fighting with volatile weapons, adding smoke for a while (cover and heat), but then removing all cover once burned out? You could even have forest fires all across the map. Even 20 year old Xcom did this. So much lacking of imagination and what could be done in the game mechanics. I shouldn`t be surprised as they wasted time with stupid gender politics instead of making a good game. Glad I waited until a cheap sale.

Took ages before I got to see a city. You have to pic a full ` City` planet (I always thought you`d get cities mostly anywhere a world had civilisation, but no). It`s ok. The BattleTech art style has always felt `off` to me, still does here. Mechs can jump up and down on buildings. Buildings collapse quite easily. Annoyingly, every tower falls straight down. nobody seems to realise that towers don`t just freely fall straight down in its own place (despite what we may have seen in one famous real world incident). Buildings should collapse somewhat randomly depending on force and where it came from. But now every building must just fall straight down. Cars just explode when walked over, they aren`t pushed aside or crushed or tryingto get out the way. You don`t see any little sprites of people - ever. The AI doesn`t do anything special with it. They usually jump on a building, you shoot building, they fall and get their legs damaged. AI`s not clever with it. To sum up, you get a big cityscape in a limited border and it`s a nice change from the usual environment, that`s it- oh and I think you get a new mech or two. Nothing to shout about. It`s ok, I guess.
