I think I rather watch Robocop 3 than keep playing. Technically it's awesome but everyone looks like stock UE5 assets, specially in the difficult for the game to create people with white skin color. Everyone is either brown or dark, even when it seems they should be caucasic. Anne Lewis was so pretty in the movie, and here she was not made justice.
I think this game should be played for educational purposes in universities. The amount of reflections in human nature and artistic visions are enough to expand the perspectives of anyone. The game also attempts to convey knowledge about our limitations and dreams. The acting and casting is great and appropriate for a fictional story very much like a late night movie, with erotic women and passions. The eroticism illustrated is effective and shameless. Sensuality and sexuality are big focus this game talks about, from an arousing, psychological and artistic perspective, which makes it the greatest piece of content that I know of to educate prudes so they realize how mentally limited they are. I felt like my decisions didn't influence the story the way I expected, but still I liked it, because the outcome seemed logical. I just think the "psychiatric nurse" had it worst and unfair. 1 Star less because the game keeps getting stuck after a while, so you have to constantly save and re-open the game. The game was much better than I expected. I want to play it again many years from now.
This game is fun even though a bit low budget in comparison to GTA. Car physics I think were directly borrowed from True Crime NYC. The game in general plays like that, and that's great and nostalgic for me. True Crime NYC was the second GTA type of game I played after GTA 3, not playing San Andreas for the next months. I finished True Crime 2 or 3 times and loved the mental asylum. Sleeping Dogs kept me entertained the same way True Crime did. It expands the scope but keeps all the neat features of True Crime. I wished Rockstar wasn't so greedy and deny GOG, but Sleeping Dogs was a good replacement. I finished it today, after maybe 2 months. The story is hollywoody undercover cop action drama and adult content. It's a bit brainless in the sense that some plot wouldn't be possible or some dialogs are as written by a teenager and you need to turn off your brain for those moments, specially for some women. In the overall view of the story, you see that is so fun, they could make a movie, a great movie out of it. Rated R.
I have this game on Steam and gave a good try. I got too bored with the safe story. A safe story is a story that is not creatively bold and doesn't take risks. In other words, this game can't be cancelled socially, and that's why it's boring; it's made of checkmarks to send their political message. It has good presentation and gameplay for a narrative focused game.
For the price I was expecting much less. This is the marvel of visual novels; they are built mostly on visuals and writing, and both aspects are very important to value the overall experience. Probably the reason the buy price was so low is because the visuals are not too great. For the writing, it's well worth the investment. There are 2 pages of CGs for a total of 15 illustrations of not too great definition, but good enough imo. The drawing quality is good for the bodies, but I don't like the author's style for the face of the protagonist, although I can see it must have tried to convey an older, more mature woman face. I think mature women, specially from asian countries, can be very pretty and even not always represent their age. You can check the gallery to see what CG's you're missing. Hunting for CG's from alternative story choices is extremely easy and fast. All choices lead to endings soon after, and the only story branch that has subchoices is the main, longer story, so you don't need to skip the whole story for the alternative paths. The game has the normal pixelization of genitals you see in JAVs and original japanese eroge content. I know many people can't tolerate it, but I can. I care about the erotism conveyed in the narrative, scene, illustration, presentation and concepts in play, over the clear visibility of genitals. The story got me very surprised and many levels, and GOG also surprised me. I heard GOG went woke and all, and that may be true for stuff that matter in the PR department, like the hiring policies, but when talking about the games, they select really good titles, no matter how controversial the concepts involved are. Without spoiling I can tell about the concepts the VN plays with: It talks about racist biases from japan towards black people and foreigners in general, and the racist biases of the world against japanese men and women, both in culture and biology. It also talks about the psychological force of sexual pleasure.
