If you liked Fallout 1 and 2 you will like this game. Game-mechanics and fighting are very similar to the original Fallouts. It doesnt have the cartoony vibe and futuristic weapons like Laserguns etc... but that is not bad, it just makes it more more realistic and it does therefore have a bit a different (maybe even more tense) atmosphere. Quests are good, I didnt see any bugs and contrary to what another user wrote: there are also critical kills in Atom. Negatives: In the end there are 2-3 fights which are a bit misbalanced in my view. Overall I liked it more than Wasteland 2 and 3, which are good games, but I preferred the atmosphere in Atom.
Yes the game is a bit clunky in the beginning and I had to push myself to start... but if you accept the graphics and and interface you will get sucked in the game and enjoy it more than many flashy "modern" games. I liked it for example more than Pathfinder WotR. The story is actually nice. The difficulty can be really hard but its doable. Bonus: The game doesnt want you to lecture about transgender/lesbian generals/kings like others these days...
I am a fan of classical and tactical RPGs so I thought Witcher with its focus on action is not something for me... but I am glad i tried it anyway: The story and the atmosphere is great. The NPCs have their own personality and it was really a very good experience. can only recommend it!
I played Cyberpunk before Witcher and Witcher 3 showed me afterwards how Cyberpunk should have been in my view... Witcher 3 had much more depth. Pro: -it really looks good, nice graphics -great soundtrack -cyberpunk atmosphere -I dont think its that buggy anymore, was more or less stable (in 2022) in between: main story is ok but somehow it left me untouched. Silverhand is cool but i didnt like many NPCs (thats much better in Witcher for example) Cons: -many side quests felt boring to me -you dont really feel the RPG part... -the devs wanted to please the woke part of our society in every aspect which at some point went on my nerves...
I played the enhanced Version, after August 2020. There are no bad bugs anymore. So dont get afraid by the older reviews, which say its almost unplayable... it is a wonderful game. I played Pillars of Eternety, Divinity Original Sin 1+2 but Kingmaker beats them all in my view. Major point: the story... it made much more sense to me than for example DOS 2. I also liked the new round based fighting mode and got really fond of my companions. I felt like 20 years ago, when i was playing Baldurs Gate.
