I really didn't like half genie hero and was very hesitant about buying this game because of it. But this game is fanatastic and I'm very glad to see the return of quality shantae games
I've played all the Shantae games and enjoyed them all, especially pirates curse so I was very excited for Half Genie Hero. On the day of it's release, my friend was playing it and I thought the graphics were brilliant (which to be fair, they are) so I immediately bought the game myself 100% it and frankly it was terrible. While the game starts out good with a town that reminds me of the original game and good humour, it eventually becomes you playing the same six dull levels again and again and again and if you play the DLC, which I did, it's just the same levels, again. Risky's gadgets are literally just reskins of shantae's transformations. After a while every time you finish the first level you'll spend the last two minutes just holding down the A button while doing something else The game is gorgeous looking technically sound but boring. I look forward to the release of The Seven Sirens but this game has made me wary.
