When I first saw ENCASED I knew the developer was doing something unique so I´ve bought the game but didnt touch it or watched any video until I could have my time with the final version, which I´ve spent around 30 hours until know. I´m not into writing reviews but this one is special, so... THE GOOD: * The prologue does a great job hooking players into the story, which is compeling * World building is great, a lot of attention to details * Stats, skills and even items can influence over dialogue, oportunities and quests * Overall dialogue/writing does the job very well without overwhelming players with too much unnecessary text. Voice overs are also just great, high quality * Lots of possibility to interact with the world really contribute for the immersion THE BAD: * Confusing combat mechanics, armor class and evasion struggle to be significant when resistances are so strong. * Big lack of items diversity specially jackets/pants/helmets/backpacks. Also weapons having their own levels, only increasing in damage, also dont contribute for variety. * Inventory management is weird, space doesn´t really matter (it should) only weight. THE UGLY: * Lack of communty contet. Its hard to find information on the internet, even about basic stuff * Lack of ammo diversification, no armor piercing/hollow point/FMJ/etc * Bribe should be a conversation hability only * Stealth is quite strong, * A LOT of containers can be looted without being considered stealing Overall Encased is a great game that was heavy influenced by older crpgs game and still maintain its own personality. The non combat part is pleasant while the combat itself could have some more attention. Also there´s a huge room for improvement since the foundation is quite solid, maybe a few patches and DLC´s could make it better? Really hope so
