A Plague Tale: Innocence

An Excellent Story

While at times the game can feel a bit like a movie you're directing, this isn't constant and the story more than makes up for the walking/stealth sim gameplay, which dominates the game. There are occasional sections where stealth is not a priority to break up the *monotony* of constantly sneaking around. Can't wait to play the sequel.

The Dark Prophecy

It needs some work

The Good * Cute art style: I absolutely love pixel art and this game does a great job. Kudos to both the dev and artist. * Good music: the music is pretty good; if anything, it might just be a little too spunky. * Double clicking on an area will make you walk there faster--a small point, but greatly appreciated: if I am going to spend an entire game walking around, I'd like to either be able to skip to places ala Myst's zip mode or be able to go a little faster by running/speedwalking. The Bad * The game needs a new editor or, more likely, a new translator: there's a lot of slightly broken/bad English--I don't know the exact terminology. For example, instead of saying "everyone is in the fields for the harvest," a character will say "everyone went for harvesting." * Game transitions fade in, but don't fade out: so they very naturally appear only to abruptly drop you into the next area. * Sometimes action effects are relayed to the player as prompts, so you have to click on them to progress instead of just clicking anywhere on the screen.
