Might and Magic® 6-pack Limited Edition

Missed those as a kid

Not being a native english speaker I missed those as a kid. MM7 was actually a brand new game when I was small, but the language barrier stopped me from playing it. The games are ancient, but legit. Hard to say if you will complete those, as these are rather long (spent the most time playing VII and IV+V), but you will get a good taste of classic high fantasy. I think this is what I missed the most in games - all the tabletop and computer games add twists and novelties. It's good to sometimes go back to how things were. Honsetly gave me more fun than Skyrim, Fallout IV and some other games that are highly regarded by mainstream.

ArcaniA

horrible

played it when it came out. Done without imagination, with claustrophobic and tunelled locations. It was a semi ok game at the beginning but lack of imagination and non-existant plot made me abandon it at some point. Pity.

ELEX

Best Gothic 3 yet

I must say I missed Piranha's games. Maybe I was busy raising children or sth. didn't click but I skipped the Risen series. Elex is a very decent game that has all the elements that make people their fans: raw combat system, dangerous world, exploration that matters, unlimited inventory but also semi-scarce loot. Playing other games like that (one of them from the iconic post-nuclear franchise :P) I feel like being forced to work as scrap mule. This game can be tedious since you need to skip fights that would get you killed (most of them in the beginning) but at least it gives you some kind of sense of adventure. Keeps you on your toes on occasion. All in all - piranha games are something different and here's a good one. Recommended for people who would like to take a break from more mainstream titles.

Pillars of Eternity: Hero Edition

My favourite game

Party based cRPG is my favourite genre. Haven't completed this one, bu managed to clock 100h between 2 attempts and I must say this is my most favourite game of all time. Combat is fun and decent. World is innovative but not forced. Party members - man, the party members are just the best. Durance, Eder and the others - great characters, with grat storylines, delivered in a condensated, but rushed form. The game does everything it should and it does it extremely well. Can't wait to play PoE II and other obsidian titles. I loved Baldurs Gate series, loved Dragon Age I, and this game accomplished what I thought would be impossible - it beats them on thier own field, not being strictly an AAA title. Now I think all the engaging and innovative games you see are indie or, like PoE is, indie-ish.

Torment: Tides of Numenera

Interactive novel

Very good interactive novel set in an interesting and innovative world. Writing is ok. Compared to other games - brilliant. Combat is boring as hell. Maps look good, but character renders don't. No portrait means mose NPCs have no character. All in all - great interactive novel that pretends to be a mediocre old-school rpg. Still very much recommended. 5 stars in my heart because it's been a long time since I actually enjoyed story in a game (I'm 33, and avid reader - hard to please), but crappy combat system and lack of visuals allowing for easier immersion make it a 4.
