Dark Fantasy: Epic Jigsaw Puzzle

Great value, with flaws.

The good stuff first... A decent amount of puzzles, and the highest difficulty (most pieces) is enough to make the puzzles challenging. The puzzle pieces are always in the right orientation (no rotation required). They snap into place when you drag them to the right area. At first I thought this made it too easy, but given the limiations of a virtual puzzle it seems to be a fair design decision. The art is ok. It's not Boris Vallejo, but it's not cringe. Nothing really lewd. Whether that's a good thing or not I leave to you, the reader. The bad: The screens are way too dark. Sometimes half or more of the puzzle is one big brown or black smudge. I probably could adjust my monitor, but I have it set where I want it 99% of the time, so I don't want to play with the brightness for one program. There should be some video controls in the option menu, like ther are for sound. The worst thing about this (and other of their puzzle games) is the save system. It's confusing to tell if I'm saving TO a save file, or overwritinga my progress by LOADING a save file. Even if the save is empty, it will overwrite you progress, sending you at the beginning. At the very least there should be a pop-up dialog asking if you really want to overwrite your progress. I've lost more than a half dozen puzzles from this and the next issue... The "curved arrow" button on the option menu. Everywhere else a curved arrow means "go back to the previous menu", or "Return to the game". Not here. In this companies puzzles it means "Reset the puzzle"!!! As I said, these puzzle collections are a good value, especially when on sale, but their wonky controls are highly frustrating.
