The Origin/EA requirement is now removed, as well as the DRM everyone was angry about years ago. This version is also better than the Steam and EA version as it has been tweaked for mid-range modern PCs compared to the others. If your PC is too modern and updated, you might need to do some tweaks on your own or install mods for it to work. But in most cases it works out of the box.
