One of the great Lucasarts adventure games, unfortunately often-overlooked, overshadowed by its more popular counterparts. Inventory puzzles are replaced by an intuitive magic system in this high-fantasy fairy tale adventure. The world-building is delightful, with gameplay interactions that support it by including many possibilities outside of what's needed to solve the puzzles and progress the story. That only makes it all the more disappointing when it ends with a cliffhanger for a sequel we never had. Still, the short-but-sweet experience of the game stands on its own, and is well worth $6. This version does not include the highly recommended audio drama introduction, but at the time of this writing, that is easy to find elsewhere online.
