It's pretty much a straightforward light version of Civilization with the Combat from Heroes of Might and Magic. I've owned this game since it was released and go back to it often though I have never completed it. It never fails to entertain when I do revisit it.
Your personal views on social issues are unlikely to have a major effect in redeeming this dog turd. This is however a great game if you want to get into arguments over what the definition of a game is. Save your money; walk around your own house and open cabinets reading any old receipts or mail you come across.
It's humorous, and has some interesting mechanics. The end boss is especially satisfying as it melds elements from different segments of the gameplay in a way which you feel clever for discovering. You'll probably need to consult a walkthrough at some points if only because being an older game it doesn't hold your hand on where you should be going all the time. I actually haven't played this game in many years, I hope I'm being accurate here but the love I feel for this game is still strong.
