There's unusual locales to explore, puzzles to solve, journals to read, and mazes to traverse. What sets this game apart is its tremendous art direction. The Labyrinth of Time is strikingly vivid and borrows from every artistic tradition to make a bold, surreal, and distinctive setting. Its patchwork, time-travel-influenced design is unlike anything ever put into a game. Where else can you break down the wall of a movie theater and wind up in a hedge maze? The soundtrack also deserves special commendation. It follows the same vein of intense surrealism. If you're a fan of adventure games for their environment and ambiance, The Labyrinth of Time should be an automatic purchase. To quote the game's intro, it may be bizarre and frightening, but it's neither dull nor grey.
