One of the old GTA challengers that actually stood strong on its own. But sadly, as always Square Enix screwed it up and didn't try to make a sequel. In 2022 It's still a decent game. Of course, it's a bit dated at this point as well. Main missions are fine but side-quests, mini-games, and too many collectibles are the negatives you have to swallow. But still fun to play if you need to scrats that GTA or crime action story itch.
Played this many years ago (2004) on the old XBOX. Nostalgia often makes you forget how good or bad a game can be. Was awesome back when it came out. Today it's dated, but not unplayable. Just don’t expect too much. There is 4 chapters each with their own Hero unit and their own difficulty. Easy, Normal, Hard, Hard. The first is kinda just there to help you understand how to play the game. The later ones will test you more. But it never gets that hard. But the controls, camera and old game design might make you wondering if this game is worth you time. It depends. First the positives: - Soundtrack still rocks - Gameplay is a mix of Hack and Slash and RTS - Stable fps - Story is easy to follow - Voice acting is for the most part okay Now for the negatives: - Camera and controls are clumsy and shows their age - Units can sometimes get stuck - FPS is looked to 30 fps - ZERO Resolution and graphic settings - Sound volume is locked when you start the game For the most part the game is okay for a basic console port from 2004. But I don’t think none fans will find much to love here. It’s simply too old and only fans of the series will like and look past its short comings. Its ported by a small team so I hold nothing against them. They have talked about 60 fps option in a patch… maybe. This series really needs a proper remake/reboot to be honest. Still worth playing for old fans.
A bit of a warning. If you don’t like games where you block and counte (like Sekiro) a lot, stay away from this game. TS2 is a decent action adventure game (think Dark Souls mixed with Sekiro). While the City of Jericho doesn’t seem that big, there is still of areas to explore, plenty of enemies to fight and shortcuts to find. The game will take you around 25-30 hours to complete depending how many side quests and deaths you will face on you journey. The combat system REALLY wants you to use the block system to beat most of the game, which can make it a hard sell for some. But for you who seek a Sekiro like experience this will be right up your ally. For me it became at bit too much near the end. I recommend that you grind and choice your armor and weapons with care, since it can effect you in the final hours of the game. Runs very stable and didn’t experienced any crashes or major bugs in my playtime.
Only played 5 hours of the game so far. So this is more a first impression than a review. I got the game on sale and so far it's woth the money. Even at it full price it ain't bad. Sound and voice: - Some of the writing is weird and sometimes the voice acting is a bit off. but not enough to ruin the experience since most of it is fine. - Music is fine as well but I tent to forget about since most of the time. Graphics: - Not bad at all for a small indie RPG. On Max settings it looks good. - Lip sync is awful xD - A few glitches here and there, but nothing major. Gameplay: - If you have played games like KOTOR, Dragon Age Origin, The Witcher 2 you know what you are in for. Side quests to complete, loot, gear, skills points, party members to talk to and moral choices to make (good and bad). - No crashes or game breaking bugs during my gameplay. Story: Since I haven’t complete the game yet, I can’t really say much. But so far it’s very classic for an RPG. So nothing is mind-blowing + the game make is pretty easy to find out who the evil and weird people are. I would have loved to see some of the early moral choices being a bit harder. As I said, the bad guys ain’t hard to spot, within the first 2 hours. I will update the review as soon as I play more or complete the game :)
Sadly it's a poor looter shooter and the dick jokes gets boring really fast. Level designs and enemies are dull, most guns are pointless since the melee weapons does the job 99% of the time and the story is nothing to write home about. But I will give the game this, it made me laugh 1 time and it was actual funny. If you want a good co-op shooter, get L4D2 Do you want a looter shooter? Get Borderland 2
I keep it short - I had most fun with the side quests. The main plot for me wasn't that great. They want you to care about Yennfer and Ciri. I just didn't care about them. I guess is beacuse I didn't read the novels/books about them. - Combat is meh and I didn't care for that either. - Voice acting and world is well made Overall, not a bad game, but not a master piece.
I got this game for free, so a review is the least I can do. I'm not much for walking sims and hide for monsters all the time. So I played on easy mode for this one since I really didn't care about the monster and just wanted the story. The look, atmosphere and sound are really well made. It’s spooky and interesting at the same time. The story and ending is going to make you thing about a few things after you are done with. Gameplay is very simple. Walking around and doing small puzzles. There was only 1 puzzles I think was badly made. I had zero clue of how to solve it and needed to do a web search to find out. The rest was easy. I got SOMA for free. I enjoyed myself more than I thought I would. But it didn’t change my mind on walking sims. If I could had added anything to this game, it would have been more puzzles and less time wasted on the monsters. But overall, not a bad sci-fi thriller.
The story and voice acting is great. Teen drama is not really my thing, but the plot made it work in a way I could stomach it. The gameplay, yeah well that’s the thing. There really isn’t any. Unless dialog bubbles and walking around a lot is your thing. The “game” is pretty, has great sound, music and a story that is fine. But to be honest, the only reason I even got to “play” this was because I got it for free and thought why not give it a try. The only thing that kept me going was the story and voice acting. If you are into these simple story driven adventure games you will not be disappointed I think. But everyone else should look elsewhere.
