Pros: Graphic design, animation, bosses Cons: Level design, Progression, Combat, Puzzles Full disclosure. I didn't finish the game. I played it for 18hr and completed it for 35% (Although from the guides I have found it seems to be the midgame) before I became bored and decided it is no longer worth my time. At first I have fallen in love with it and would've given it 5 stars within the 5 hours, but afterwards it slowly started to drop. I wasn't a fun of the SNES games in the childhood (in I didn't even know of the Nintendo exclusive games since they didn't get imported to my country), so while I love the art style I don't appreciate the outdated gamedesign of making games as Confusing as possible to artificially inflate the playtime... I think the devs saw the blasphemous and thought "wait, that game is too easy to navigate, let's confuse the player and make them pointlessly backtrack constantly in order to progress". Also the variaty is very lacking. Like once a type of trap is introduced the game starts to use it all the time - and I mean the room with three waves of monster is no longer a surprise if it happens third time within 30 minutes... The voice acting is OK. It's clear that people had passion for the gottic atmosphere, but given the script they were given they couldn't do any better. The game engine sucks. Some transition between screen is seemless and you can even hear enemies on the other side - while some, sometimes two or more in a row, can take 5-10 seconds to load while showing black screen... At first I thought the Proton was a problem, but the issue is still present even on a current gen PC. Also the game keeps running even when you're reading tips/lore pop-up/etc. I mean even fromsoft stops the game at those moments, and they are famous for being jerks in that regard... Level progression is broken. Everything except for vitality is meaningless... Other than that it's a pretty solid game. I do not regret buying it.
