Yuppie Psycho was a nice little ride. It still took around 10 hours to finish. Here are some positives and negatives: + Nice and coherent artistic direction + Animated scenes for key points of the game + The strange atmosphere is well done, beeing a dark and mysterious office tower with completely insane people populating it - Some endings are hit or miss - The "survival" aspect of this survival horror seems a bit out of place from time to time - No autosave on exit Now let's go into a bit more detail. The atmosphere is on point, you will feel the insanity of this workplace where as the player, you are supposed to track down and kill the witch that cursed this huge corporation (revealed in the first 10 min of the game). Controls are a bit wacky in specific encounters, but otherwise very intuitive and easy to use. The animated scene are very welcome to set the tone for specific key points in the story, as well as some endings. I won't spoil endings, but some are anti-climactic and could have been developped a bit more on the side of repercussions. The biggest downsides I see is the save system and how it ties into the survival horror theme of the game. You are in a survival game, so you should manage ressources to keep yourself alive. Sure, but the game is quite light hearted even though it has also its darker and anxiety inducing moments. My point is: while the ressource management is necessary, I dislike that you can't exit the game at any moment by having an autosave that won't necessitate a specific ressource, just to leave and come back without beeing able to load that save file later on (to avoid circumventing the mechanic). For all the other ressources, the game could have been even a bit less generous and it might have reinforced urgency a bit. Overall a nice experience, but exploring all endings could be a bit tedious, especially with the current save system that uses limited ressources.
While I would like to give out a review about the content of the game, I'm sorry to say that it's not useful anymore, as the game seems to come with unsolvable problems (at least on my system). I played the game quite a few years ago and it worked well, but I just reinstalled it and the game launches in a small resolution that I'm unable to override AND the font doesn't adapt to said resolution, making it bleed out of the screen and beeing cut off by the line height limit. I don't know if they made an update or it comes from an incompatibility between the engine and the new windows systems, but it is currently not playable on my side. I attempted to contact support about it, but was unable to obtain a response. So be careful before buying, you might not be able to play anyway.
