Might and Magic® 7: For Blood and Honor®

Classic CRPG

Like many of these older RPGs nostalgia colors my opinion of the game quite a bit, but I actually went back and reinstalled this game after playing a modern RPG that just wasn't doing it for me. The contemporary gamer's definition of an RPG usually just means that you get xp for killing monsters and while this is true in Might and Magic this game has so much more to it. There's exploration, side quests, plot for good and evil characters, dialogue, dungeons and exceptionally brutal traps. I started my Might and Magic love with Mandate of Heaven, so I know that I'm not as old school as some other Might and Magic fans out there, but I loved For Blood and Honor the minute I started playing it. My brother and I really appreciated how you can switch races for your characters at character creation. Character creation is a fun experience on its own; I still flip through the game manual trying to decide which character, race and class combinations are the strongest and most capable to fit all situations. Also you can play a female character which, even in this day and age, is not a guarantee. I still have not beaten For Blood and Honor despite playing many hours of it as many different characters of various alignments and race. I hope to do so this summer.
