Black Mirror

An excellent game overall

Having played just over 3 hours, I have to admit I am very pleased with the game. The voice acting; which has been commented before; is excellent. Great to hear a true Scottish accent. Other than the gruesome death scene at the beginning, which is not that bad - I just am not keen on them, I found the atmosphere captivating. I really felt like I was back at Castle Black Mirror once more. There are enough additions and changes to make this feel like a new game. There was one rather silly puzzle where you had to keep your curser in a circle (I wont go into details to avoid spoilers) but I felt that it was more a test of mobility rather than keeping in game and it did drag the emersion out of the game while I was left wondering "what that was all about" The controls are a bit awkward; having not used a game controller in years; but after a while it became second nature. I did find myself going in circles a few times but that was my own over correcting in the controller. I purchased this in a sale and am glad I did. So far I am loving this version of 'Black Mirror' and looking forward to playing it more. I read so many complaints, within the reviews, but I am neather disapointed or annoyed with what others are finding. It works for me.

Divine Divinity

A Splendid Game

Having looked at some videos on YouTUBE I decided to buy the game. I have been very pleased with my purchase. Not only is it very atmospheric but the music and graphics are very well done. I found this game very easy to get into without reading the manual. I usually read the manuals after I get into a game to see if i'm missing any important steps. But I was able to jump right into this game and play. I compare this to Fallout 2 in the fact that I started up the game but got stuck almost straight away. Not the games fault but just the way play. The mapping is very well done with the ability to place markers on the map. I have things such as "Discount Goods", "Bed" and so on marked so I can find these locations easily. One other thing I like is the ability to pause the game while you figure out what to do next I am a Mage in the game and loving every minute of it so far. Have not used any magic yet but have about 6 quests on the go. The quests are a good example of using marker pins on the map so I can remember where I need to return to get my bonus/gifts/task completions. I have slowed my playing down so I actually read the text and it is almost like reading a book in places. To repeat my earlier comment, this game is just fantastic with atmosphere. If you like the Baldur's Gate series, Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 and Planescape Torment then you will love this one. I will be so bold as to say, for me at least, this game is better than Bauldurs Gate. Again this is my own opinion but it really shows you how much I love this game. You will not be disappointed with your purchase.
