I had never played this before now, and I was kinda chocked how different it was from the classic Capcom PS1 horror formula. The first Dino Crisis is bsically Resident Evil with dinosaurs, this one feels almost like a wierd Resident Evil 4 prototype to me. It is very action packed, enemies drop points (coins) that you use at a store where you buy guns, ammo and upgrades, you have a knife/stun baton that is like in RE4 a separate subweapon that can be used whenever - there is even a section where you escort a blonde girl and have to protect her. The difference between this and RE4 is of course the camera. Dino Crisis 2 is still rocking the classic cinematic pre rendered camera angles and that mixed with the more action oriented gameplay leads to some real frustration because enemies just spawn at every camera change, it feels real unfair to kill all raptors in a room, walk three steps, camera angle chances and BOOM! A hungry velociraptor just spawns in and claws your intestines out. Anyways, I liked it. Regina was fun, very sassy.
