SimCity™ 3000 Unlimited

SimWOW!

I just came off of playing some Simcity 2000 (Arcologies for the win!) and I must say, I forgot how good 3000 is. Full of early 2000s graphical GOODNESS and updated mechanics. Did I mention that brilliant soundtrack? Well, I'm mentioning it now! Yes, probably my favorite Simcity game. "Reticulating Splines" P.S. Isn't it ironic that Simcity 3000 was released in the year 2000? I think Will Wright dropped the ball on that one.

Epistory - Typing Chronicles

Unique

This is truly a unique experience, as your attacks are literally (LITERALLY!!) typing words fast enough to hit mobs. As you progress through the game, you will unlock new forms of elemental attacks - Ice words will slow mobs; Lightning words will have arcing attacks that hit multiple enemies. The world literally (LITERALLY!!!!!) unfolds like so much origami as you try to learn what happened to the land and character to bring things to the brink of disaster. I actually played this along side my daughter, taking turns with her when words got too difficult (though the difficulty can be scaled) or when she was overwhelmed with too many mobs. Great family experience! She has since installed it on her own laptop to play through it by herself for the second time. I still need to keep reminding her of PROPER HAND POSITION though :P

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition

Fantastic!

The music score and art is beyond comparable for any other platformer adventure of this size. The game play is challenging, but not overly so for me (I'm an old dude who grew up with Atari 2600 and Nintendo, so you youngsters should be able to handle this too). Looking forward to the sequel coming February 2020!

Anomaly 2

Tower Defense for Purists

Loved this Tower Defense game. Straight forward, with excellent graphics. You build towers, upgrade them, fight baddies, and it's great! Hearkens back to the simpler days of Tower Defense, but with a modern story and eye-candy. Did I mention the eye-candy? Sci-fi delicacies to behold! Get this, or get blasted.

Through the Ages

Civsational!

(You like that? "Civsational"? You can use it for free.) Through the Ages is all the back-end parts of a Civilization video game put to paper and cardboard. Except, this is a digital version, so there's no tree deaths required! Manage and grow your Empire with historically accurate stuffs, but without all the annoying area control and unit movement that a Turn Based Strategy game requires. BUY IT NOW!!

Swords & Souls: Neverseen

Fun in and out of battle.

If you are an RPG vet, you will feel right at home in the battle. But the training element is something new to me and is quite a fun aspect, really challenging your reflexes with keyboard and mouse. The only thing I wish was that there was a manual to explain some of the details of the UI and weapons. But even without those details, I am able to keep leveling up and progressing. And I don't even really like RPG games like this all that much, and am just having a blast!

Forager

It's ok

I did enjoy it for a bit. But I just don't have patience anymore for grindy games like this. Needs cheats.
