Bus World

Improved!

A nice improvement and continuation of the Bus Driving Simulator game by KishMish. This iteration has interesting scenarios to play through in three distinct regions: Iceland, Soviet Union - Chernobyl area, and China. I had some difficulty getting through two of the Iceland scenarios, but managed after a couple throughs so no big deal. Having more lightweight fun!

OpenTTD

Old and Excellent

Somehow Open TTD has become one of my favorite games. I was never expecting to like it as much as I do - I already have Factorio and many other such games that deal with logistics with modern interfaces and fun themes. But wow! This game has me hooked. I am playing with a few very good mods that broaden the game's scope and content. Did I mention it's free?

Star Command

A much younger Trump takes to the stars!

It's a beloved classic. You probably should play it.

Star Explorers

Star Explorers!

One of those fun, indie, dungeon crawls that's also a space exploration adventure. Lots of equipment to upgrade, plenty of different planet types to discover and explore with alien lifeforms to deal with. Space battles; ship boarding; trying to get the last remnants of your civilization to survive. Trading. Dialogue and story. It's got a lot too do and at an affordable price.

The Colonists

The Sett...lonists!

Very true to the source material. This was my first foray into The Settlers before I went back to play some of the original classics. Had lots of fun with the novelty - which isn't actually new at all but was new to me - of having limited road access for my settlement logistics. Graphics are cute, cubic robits and that's fine, though I prefer the Settlers 2 redux graphical designs myself. It's worth a play through in my opinion.

Metro Simulator

Fun, but messy.

Had a go with Metro Simulator after I got it on a pretty big discount. Never played a metro sim before, so this was new to me. And I have to say the tutorial was REALLY rough to get through. Some translation issues created a barrier, as the train dashboards are in Russian and the tutorial instructions aren't always smoothly translated. Only got to the third scenario as it was too difficult to parse what needed to be done. The second scenario was immensely frustrating too because of the same sort of hiccups and unclear directions that plague this game overall. But driving the trains (only two different kinds) was itself enjoyable once I finally figured out what I was doing. Get it on a STEEP discount for sure if you are willing to chance it, but I suspect other metro sims on the market are better fleshed out.
