Just like it say, this is a collection of SNK games before they made the NeoGeo and became more widely known. So the highlights of this to the average gamer would be Crystalis and the Ikari Warriors games. Crystalis is an action RPG that released first on the NES, plays well and has an interesting story. Shame for the most part SNK never released any RPG's after this except the Samurai Showdown one that released in Japan on the SS, PSOne and NeoGeo CD. As for Ikari Warriors they're top down action shooters where you destroy tanks, soldiers and entrenchments if I remember this last one correctly. You can even gain a tank which gives you a bit of health to sustain gameplay. You can shoot in all directions I believe(can't remember if you could shoot behind) which was accomplished in the arcade by a twistable/rotatable joystick. This was an arcade game that was always fun for a while. Here's hoping SNK has another pre-NeoGeo collection gathering anything left. Also I hope to see more collections like this, esp. from Taito and Success.
I don't own this game but played a timed demo on the One and absolutely LOVED this game. When I heard about Ark and what it was about I wasn't interested. Even though "The Long Dark" hasn't created a story mode either I find myself terribly engaged regardless. The graphical aesthetic, at least for me, drew me in and made for an immersive experience. I feel like I could almost imagine being in this landscape and feel the cold all around me. Somehow I also felt terribly isolated as well which really adds to the experience. I highly advise anyone who is on the fence and likes what I'm saying to give it a shot. When I buy this it will first be on GOG for obvious reasons. Additionally, I can't wait to see what more ends up added with a complete build
