As the final DLC, Lord tries to combine both damage and morale strategy so you can easily choose which one to pursue. He focuses a lot on his new monster type called Psychopomps which gain new effects if you get a soul fragment (basically remove a quarter of morale from any hero). Just removing one quarter can lead to nice damage from specific monsters. His promotion, a graveyard, allows Lord to resurrect previously killed monsters, but only like 2 of them and sometimes random, so it's not as broken as it sounds. The previously mentioned soul fragments are needed material for improving your graveyard. I enjoyed this DLC, but I like Goddess and Shaman more.
Out of all the DLCs, this master is the most aggressive in terms of damage and the way you gain power. Thanks to blessings your monsters gain more damage to specific type of attacks, to the point they can almost one-shot heroes. Then you get access to various spells, similar to Enchantress which you can improve those with blood. This can lead to a hilarious strategy of purchasing monsters just to sacrifice them for more blood at the altar. If any of this sounds interesting to you, then don't hesitate trying out Shaman.
To me, I like the OST, Artbook and the ability to switch to Christmas/Halloween skins. Originally I got the base game for free, so I bought this as a little thanks message to devs for creating a really fun game. There's not much else to say to this pack. If you love the game and want a little bit extra that doesn't change the mechanics, you can consider buying this.
The trailer made me very excited to play this master and I can certainly say I was not disappointed. Now, morale builds tend to have really rough start and then they either fall into obscurity or get the needed support with artifacts. Goddess has that support from the very start and from that point onward you can decide to commit to it fully or use that as a damage boost for your regular attacks. The thing that makes me gravitade towards morale build is her talent of gaining extra gold when a hero flees. And thanks to extra tears that you gain, that supports Maat the sarcophagus (a sort of mini-boss that you get as promotion). Of course this is just one of several ways you can build your morale run. If you like scaring heroes away, this is a master for you!
If you've played Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and Darkest Dungeon, then this is the game for you. Your main character (master) improves over time as you proceed in the campaign, but in each chapter you get different monsters which are disposable. In combat almost everything is set in stone, you're not dealing with that many dice rolls, so you can calculate what is going to happen. That makes the game engaging and strategic. In base game you get 3 masters which I think is plenty to enjoy this simple yet addictive game (and in case you feel like, you can purchase DLCs). I don't find the game too easy nor too hard and I wasn't even messing around with difficulty options. Oh yeah, the game has difficulty options. And speed options. I appreciate that one a lot because Darkest Dungeon doesn't have that (you have to download a mod). It's hard for me to say any negatives about the game because I enjoy it a lot. I guess certain artifacts are a little OP, but this is singleplayer, so feel free to do whatever you want.
