Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer

A good point and clicker mystery

It's a good sequel that puts a nice bow on the first game. Unfortunately that means that you NEED to play the first one, despite the game doing a light recap at the beginning and having it fresh in your mind is preferable. It's a story about the protagonist Katy Rain first and foremost, at times funny at times unnerving, at times touching. On the art side it's good with some interesting sequences that are better experienced for yourself. Gameplay-wise it's very similar to the first one, mainly point and click with a few (maybe too few) minigames peppered in between. It's an homage to the point&click games of old: faithful but uninnovative. Overall if you liked the first game then you should play this - a sequel that improves in every way.

Baldur's Gate 3

Good, yet flawed.

The game offers a breadth of content but has been plagued by bugs since release, some older ones even being reintroduced by later patches. The first third of the game is excellent, owning to the long early access period. The second third of the game is, by contrast, lacking in scope. I believe the director mentioned it suffered content cuts due to the lockdown. The third act has quite a bit of content but lacks polish, although patches have improved optimization. Unfortunately the third act can also feel quite chaotic and aimless with how much is going on. This breadth of content that isn't always connected logically can be very artificial: it feels as if they tried to cram as much content in it as they could - more like a buffet than a 3 course meal.
